Anyone know how to hook up multiple modems to one computer?

I have a friend who has four cable modems hooked up to his computer, and his internet is screaming fast (as in he downloaded Transformers the movie in a minute and a half). He had it installed by some dude, and they all run off a single RG11 coax input going into a 4-way splitter. Anyone know how to do it?

What you just said is impossible so your friend is lying. Each modem has its own mac address and it is possible to use only 1 mac address  per connection.
