Anyone know how to make a .5 M sucrose solution??

Im doing a project for AP bio and i need to know.. i know its just water and sugar, but i have no idea how much of each to mix..

  1. Molar means moles per liter, so in order to make 0.5 M solution, you need 0.5 moles of sucrose in 1 liter of water.

    The molecular weight of sucrose is 342.3 grams/mole, so for 0.5 moles, you need 342.3*0.5 = 171.15 grams of sucrose for every 1 liter of water.

    If you want to make a good solution of this stuff, make sure you use distilled water, since regular tap water has chlorine and other random chemicals in it.
