  1. You got enough answers already, but also try to make caipirinha with any fruit... it is very popular in Sao Paulo. Instead of lime use any fruit... the strawberry is really good, also try with kiwi, watermelon...  squeeze the fruit with sugar and then pour the cachaca and ice... let me know what you think...

    cheers!

  3. Don't taste the same because "cachaca 51" is so so... The best cachacas are in Brazil and not avalaible to export.

  4. Here's a site with the preparation on it:

  5. Are you using a shaker?  it works better than just stirring.

I have had them with condensed milk also - you may want to try it - see if it cuts it down.  Also try more limes.

  6. Scale ingredients to 1  servings

    2 tsp granulated sugar

    8 limes wedges

    2 1/2 oz cachaca

Muddle the sugar into the lime wedges in an old-fashioned glass. Fill the glass with ice cubes. Pour the cachaca into the glass. Stir well. The secret is sugar with lemon juice...the mix

  7. 1 lime

    2 ounces of cachaça

    Sugar to taste

    Ice cubes

*** I think you just added to much cachaca.

  8. Ok. Cachaca 51 it is NOT good for caipirinha.

If you dont have another kind of cachaca, try make it with vodka. Then you will have caipvodka that is as good as caipirinha.

  9. 1 lime, 2 ounces of cachaça, sugar to taste and ice cubes.

But you can use other tropical fruit, such as kiwi, pinneaple, strawberry, etc. You can also use vodka instead of cachaça and make caipiroska, and, again, you can use other fruits to make roskas.

The most important thing is to ge a good cachaça. Here in the US the best one to make drinks is Velho Barreiro, and it is not one of the most expensives. You can buy a bottle for about 12 to 15 dollars.

Have fun! But do not full yourself. Because of the sugar, you can drink fast and you can get drunk real easy. So, take care!
