Anyone know how to make a Mexican Hamburger?

I've been to my husband's home town in Mexico several times and they have some of the best hamburgers and I was wanting to make them for us. Well I don't really recall what all goes on them. So if anyone has in authintic recipes for these hamburgers from Mexico I'd surely appricaite it!!!

Umm.. is there a such thing as a mexican hamburger? well in my family we just add onions and anything else you want ain't nothing special really but if you really want a mexican meal make som enchiladas that'll do!

we usually add pepper ,salt , cummin, garlic powder to the grown beef before cooking it....

*personally I like to add some guacamole or jalapeños to them

there is such a thing as mexican hamburgers, We get them all the time In Allende, Nuevo Leon. Its just ground beef, ham, cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, mayo or mexican cream,  avocado, refried beans and whatever you like on it. serve with some charro beans, french fries and jalapenos.. I love them, I can't wait to go to Allende..

I lived next to Mexico for 4 years and I've never heard of a "Mexican hamburger." I don't think it is a traditional Mexican dish, per se, but probably something that your husband or someone in his family developed? Or maybe just a hamburger with salsa, peppers, or pepper jack cheese. It would help if you could describe what the sandwich is like. I've heard someone call a burrito a "Mexican wrap" before and I had no clue what they were talking about.

Hamburgers in Mexico usually add ham and avocado slices to a regular hamburger. There is no salsa, chili or anything else added to the meat. That is a misconception prevalent among people who know nothing about Mexico. One of the secrets is to charcoal broil them. Hamburgers are not eaten with salsa either, but they can be eaten with pickled jalapeño peppers which you can find canned as jalapeños en escabeche. I eat mine with ketchup. Some places will even add a little extra by adding a grilled frank, one that is manufactured specially for grilling.

The recipe I follow is the ground meat, egg, bread crumbs, chopped onion, parsley, cilantro, garlic, a splash of Worcestershire, a splash of Maggi, which is a very tasty liquid seasoner, but you can substitute it with soy sauce. You spread the buns with mayo or mustard and then place them back on the grill so they toast a little, then add the meat patty, the cheese, which by the way is not american cheese or any american variety, we use chihuahua or manchego cheese, then tomato avocado and onion.

Hamburgers are so popular that people all over the world modify them according to taste, just like pizzas. Even American franchises have to modify their product to adapt it to local tastes. KFC adds a lot of garlic to their product in Korea, otherwise it won't sell as well. Domino's and Pizza Hut have to add jalapeño peppers and chipotle to their pizzas to conform to Mexican tastes. McDonald's, Burger King, all turn out hamburgers with a Mexican twist in Mexico.

INGREDIENTS

    * 1 pound ground beef

    * 3 tablespoons chili seasoning mix

    * 2 chipotle peppers in adobo sauce, minced

    * 1/2 fluid ounce beer

    * 1/4 cup mayonnaise

    * 1 chipotle pepper in adobo sauce, minced

    * 6 (1 ounce) slices white bread

    * 6 (1/2 ounce) slices pepperjack cheese

DIRECTIONS

   1. Mix together the ground beef, chili seasoning mix, 2 minced chipotle peppers with adobo sauce, and the beer in a bowl. Divide the mixture evenly into three patties.

   2. Stir together the mayonnaise and 1 minced chipotle pepper with adobo sauce in a small bowl. Divide the mixture between the bread slices and spread evenly. Place a slice of pepperjack cheese on top of the mayonnaise mixture on each slice of bread.

   3. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties in the skillet until no longer pink in the center, 5 to 7 minutes each side for well done. Remove each burger to a slice of bread, sandwiching them with the remaining slices.

   4. Drain the skillet, reserving 2 tablespoons of the grease. Heat the reserved grease in the skillet over medium-high heat. Grill the sandwiches in the skillet until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted, 1 to 2 minutes per side.
