  1. if he is pushing he button to undo it you may try buying some of the velcro tape and use the "poky side"  put it on the button, little kids think it hurts and won't push the button anymore.( you can but this at walmart in the craft section i have sometimes seen it at the dollar store too.)

If he is sliding out of the seat you may just need to tighten it, you should only be able to fit a finger or two between the straps and his body, you may have to loosen to remove him and tighten every time you buckle him in but it's better than him being unsafe.

    good luck,

  2. My son does the same thing (he's 20 months) although he wriggles his arms out of the straps!

You might need to get a car seat with a tougher catch, my son isn't able to open the catch on his, but the straps are just quite loose and its hard to get them really tight so he can slip his arms out.

Failing that, strap him in tightly so he can't reach down to the catch, or put mittens on him when you're in the car!!!

  3. erm depends what sort of safety harness you have, theres a clip in halfords but thats specifically designed for their seats, so my suggestion would be to maybe tape it up until he grows out of the habit

remember the more emphasis you put onto how importiant it is to keep his belt on, the more he might pay attention.

actually, now he is one you may wish to consider a more grown up car seat, in which the safety belt of the actual car goes through the car seat

  4. strap him in

  5. Spank his butt and tell him no.

  6. I would think about asking for a replacement car seat or getting  a new one.

My daughter is 2 years old and however much she may try she has never been able to open the straps on her car seat.

Maybe there is a fault with your car seat.

Other than that you can buy a harness clip which stops them being able to do it

  7. My son used to do that all the time. One day after telling him no A MILLION TIMES I literally stopped the car and spanked him. It is just to dangerous for him to be doing that. He learned after that though!

  8. If your child can open the harness @ 1year old I would suggest that you contact your local car seat dealer and ask them to fit your car with a reliable one. The one you have sounds like it's faulty. I have two kids and they have never been able to open them at all.

  9. one of my kids did this and what I did was take a safety pin and clip it under the arm straps so that he couldn't push it down and get out. Worked like a charm. Plus if he opens the clasp then the safety pin is still there. Little fingers cant work those.

  10. My 2 year old did the same thing with the car seat and pushchair harness. So I bought a harness clip and it works a treat.

Have included link so you can see what it is, I bought mine from amazon ( UK )
