  1. i've spent the last few hours trying to figure this out myself. finally did it. if you have windows media center edition 2005 then you cannot use composite 2 and watch tv through your coax connection. you can only do 1 or the other and its a pain in the neck to switch back and fourth between them.

*note* the composite video 2 was created to set up a cable box. if you're installing anything else, there really is no point that i can see because there's so much lag.

to view the composite video 2, you have to reconfigure your tv signal manually. select satellite, it will search for a connection then you have to scroll down the list and select "composite video 2". if you do this correctly and everything is connected right, you should see the image in the bottom right corner. then you just have a complicated list of things to go through to finally get it working.

if you're hooking up and xbox 360 (this is what i was doing), there is no point in trying. there is about a 4 second lag that cannot be recalibrated. games can't be played with this. its too much lag. i was trying rockband myself, but i cant think of any games where this would be tollerable.

if you wanna try it for yourself, heres how. when it asks what company makes the cable box, you cannot select "not listed here". it will undo everything you've already done. just pick the first one on the list. for the remote, say you dont have one. at least i think thats what i did. it wont let you use the media center remote. i think thats the last thing to do. if not then you can figure it out from there. make sure the audio/video cord for the 360 is set to "tv" not "hdtv". thats about it. good luck.
