Anyone know if dab radio works in france.just wondered.?

we are going fishing in the south of france and wanted to keep turned in to the radio as well.thanks for your help everyone

The DAB system used in the UK is different to many around the world. Though some countries are starting to use the next stage of DAB technology and therefore will be uniform, already there is talk that our system is out of date.

Some newer radio receivers that offer the user the choice of what type of DAB broadcasts they can listen to are becoming available.

For now DAB radio's taken from the UK to be used abroad will not work or they'll pick up stations only available in the country you are going to. Again, some of the new ideas may allow stations to be heard across greater distances.

In some cases for the time being you'd be better off using a traditional radio that uses LW/AM/FM or Shortwave if you are hoping to continue to hear any programmes originating from the UK.
