  1. The output wire on the back of the alternator does feed back into the positive battery harness, but only to keep the battery charged..The main cable off the battery positive terminal is the heavy (thick) one that connects directly to the starter motor, and is constantly powered...This is because the starter motor draws an enormous amount of amperage when engaged, and a longer, thinner cable would burn up or even melt under such load...The feed wire on the alternator charges the battery only after the engine reaches a 'cut-in' speed of above say 1500 rpm or so, when there is no longer any draw from the starter..on a diagram, it may look like it is the same wire, but they are used for two very different purposes...

  2. Battery doesn't matter!  Its all the same, Starter is connected directly to the battery.  Just leave the one wire to the starter alone!

  3. It goes to the positive battery terminal. As the starter is wired to a relay the connection to the starter probably would not work.

  4. think so yes is battery coil starter i think

  5. No the Alternator is "Charging System" and Doesn't go to the Starter! (Ignition, Battery & Ground, Then there should be a separate Case Ground that goes to the block.

  6. Just to clarify the answers you are getting.

The battery positive cable runs directly to the starter solenoid. So the output wire from the alternator will connect to the SAME TERMINAL on the solenoid the battery cable connects to. It is effectively then connected to the battery positive side.
