just go for it, get a flight, hire a car and stop somewhere there that looks nice, theres always hotels for 20-30 euros a night

It is a fairly expensive part of Spain so cheap hotels are hard to come by but you could try bookhostels.com as they tend to specialize more in out of the way and cheaper hosteleries.
