Anyone know of a cheap train ticket to get from London - Leuchars 25 Sep - 30?

I have a 16-25 railcard, my boyfriend does not have one.

For me it is about 70 quid with Virgin, Trainline, raileasy, national express and national rail enquiries. 175 quid for both of us....... seems a lot for booking so far in advance! We are flexible to going via other places in scotland as we are planning to visit inverness and montrose too.......

You could be trying to book too far in advance. If you go to http://www.atoctravelagents.org/ and look at the 'Booking Horizons' link, you will see that most train companies only have advance tickets available until mid-September. Try again in a couple of weeks. In the meantime, you could try an online booking enquiry with your chosen date a day or two before the latest date currently available, just to see what prices you could get.
