Anyone know of a good company or website for creating a family tree?

I really want to know who I am related to/what my relatives did in their life. Or if they even did anything extraordinary. The recent programme in Britain called 'Who Do You Think You Are?' has sparked this off in me, as many people on it have found out they are related to King George II, holocaust victims/officials and other interesting characters.

So yeah, anyone know of any decent websites/people/companies that are exceptionally good at finding ancestors and perhaps even making a family tree. (A rather large family tree, going back a thousand years or more perhaps.)

Genes Reunited is probably the best if you are located in UK It is now the most popular website in the country for finding " cousins " and has a simple  tree construction which accepts gedcoms from any genealogy program .

www.ancestry.com would be the best for large trees and going back as far as there are records for the person.

If you purchase the Family Tree Maker software it is interactive with the website so it will do the searching for you.

There is a fee for the subscription to Ancestry but it's worth it.
