  3. Most of the courses in the Salt Lake Area are forgiving depending which tees you play.

North a little bit you've got Bountiful Ridge which is a mature course and fun to play.  Also great views and scenery.

Mountain Dell is up the canyon to Park City, but can be dry this time of year and was a bit over run by vegetation last time I played there.

South Mountain in Draper is unique with lots of blind shots, but it has spectacular views.

Thanksgiving Point is a Johnny MIller course design just around the point of the mountain in South Salt Lake.  It is fun to play.  A bit $$ but worth it.

Wasatch up in Heber past Park City is excellent, but it may be to long of drive out of Salt Lake City for you. The same goes for Hobble Creek.

A couple of other goodies that are fun are Old Mill, Riverbend, and Stone Bridge.

There are a lot to choose from.  If you get a chance just stop by Uinta Golf or Golf Galaxy and ask anyone in there.  They'll give you the heads up of what to play.

  4. Depends on the type of course you are looking for.  Bonneville is a nice course in the foothills of the city.  It's not a long course, and it's fun to play.  If in the southern part of the valley, located in South Jordan, Glenmoore is a really nice course, always in great condition, with a very nice variety of holes.  Just between Salt Lake City and Park City is Mountain Dell golf course.  It's got 36 holes, in the middle of a canyon, so it's quite scenic.  My personal favorite is Bountiful Ridge.  It's no more than a 1/2 hour north of Salt Lake City, very scenic, fun to play.  Just remember, every put breaks towards the Great Salt Lake!

These courses are all on the affordable side.  Lots of great golf in the Salt Lake area for good prices.
