Anyone know of a good holiday destination similar to the carribean?

i went to carriben 2 years in a row but dont fancy the journey time this year so fancy somewhere closer was thinkinf marbella. st tropez. also maldives but dont know where it is ? can anyone help must me all inclusive and similar standard to sandals

Most  of the other answers have given good ideas but are all longer flights than the Caribbean.

You are really limited for a shorter trip but suggest one of the Canary Islands, a 4 hour flight from the UK.

The British Virgin Islands are in the Caribbean, as are Mexico's top resorts

Maldives are in the Indian Ocean and at least a 12 hour flight.

Maldives is in the Indian Ocean about 7 hour flight but worth it if you are looking to relax as there is not much to do except snorkel and dive.

Marbella is great but packed with brits and does cost an arm nd a leg!! and is pretty squashed

Africa has places like the carribean try Diani Beach in Kenya

The British Virgin Islands also look great!

Get to the travel agents and get brouches for everywhere and then narrow down to what you like the sound of

The maldives is in the Indian Ocean so the journey time would be longer, though I'm of the opinion that the journey is generally worth the holiday. Why not try Mexico? Slightly shorter journey but there are some top class hotels there.
