Almost everything I have is 1950s so "new for old" is of no use to me, I mean, you can't replace a 50s sofa with something from DFS!!

  1. Try Morgan Stanley

  2. You would need to speak to a specialist insurance broker who deals with High Networth buildings and contents policies as well as Antiques and Collectibles policies.

Providing you are able to obtain valuations on your items then you should not have any problems. In the event of a claim they will probably not attempt to replace the item with a item from the same period. They will probably pay you the cash equivalent to allow you to source a suitable replacement.

Some policies with these insurers, if you have for example a 1950's full set of china and you only damaged one, will pay for the full set to be replaced as the value is based on the complete set; not per single item.

The first link lists the top 5 specialist High Networth insurers recommended by The Broker Portal UK and the next link is a UK Insurance Broker who can do all the work for you.
