  1. There's a cheap and cheerful place at the top of Broughton Street (across from the Playhouse and up the Walk a couple of hundred yards) called The Basement.  It's very popular so book in advance.

  2. There's a great wee restaurant called Ricks which is a short taxi ride from the Playhouse.

We popped in there once to grab a bite and was well impressed: reasonably priced for quality food, caters for everyone, lovely surroundings and great service.

    Check it out:

    Enjoy!

  3. TRY THIS PLACE:-

Creelers in the town centre (just off the high street - http://www.creelers.co.uk/ ).

Been there on the Dine Around menu and loved it. In fact it is the only restaurant I will entertain that close to the high street.

  4. 'Tiles' @ St Andrew's Square do great food.X

  5. Depends what you're looking for.  There are a host of Italian's around it and my favourite is The Jolly on Elm Row.  If you want something more along the "grill "line then you could try the Smoke Stack on Broughton Street.  Or, for traditional Scottish there is Howie's on Waterloo Place.  Its about a 10 minute walk to the Playhouse from there, which is nice to help your food settle before you go into the theatre.
