  1. www.rentacoder.com is a good way to start off. you can find bids here that are data entry type and you can bid and start working.

  2. Cashcrate is one example, if you use it correctly, you will make money.

There are a very few legit sites out there, but you have to do your research. For example, Cashcrate is the number 1 paid survey site. The problem arises when members take 30 surveys in one day and have their pending list accumulated. The hint is to take a few surveys per day, and don't let your pending list get accumulated. A lot of people have had success with cashcrate, and I made about 17 dollars within 2 days. The payout is ten dollars. Its tempting to do every offer all at once, but that could hurt you.

Here are two blogs that may help you. One is about cashcrate, the other is about using it. This helped me alot.

and NO, you do not give out your credit card. If you become a member, i suggest joining the forums. You will get a lot of support there.

  3. There are some legitimate survey companies that pay points, or even a buck or two for completing surveys.  You cannot make more than $25-50/year, even if you do surveys for a dozen legit companies.  Anyone who tells you otherwise is conning you out of money for a scam-list.

Data entry or freelance computer work:  You have to have experience, references, and go to companies to find freelance work.  If it is advertised on the I'net, it's not legit.  Rentacoder and some other freelancer lists may be legit, but you have to pay to advertise, pay for listings, and your prices will be undercut by Indians and Chinese, who do not have to pay taxes, have a much lower cost of living, etc.

  4. Most of them are scam.. they ask for upfront payment and guarantee that you'll cover it in days.. but then they disappear..

elance and guru are good option you can try to explore others as well.

List and links of some genuine surveys can be found here: http://genuine-surveys.blogspot.com/ and links for genuine data entry jobs can be found here: http://genuine-dataentry.blogspot.com/ they are all free to sign-up and seems legitimate so far to me.

p.s. sign-up with a new email id, as you might receive a lot of junk mails no your email otherwise.

most of them will send your money by paypal

  5. Most data entry sites are a scam. There are a few out there, but most have very long wait lists. Some businesses allow you to do data entry from home, but they are difficult to find.

As for surveys, most of the legitimate ones will only pay about $0.50 or so per survey. Definitely avoid ones that offer $75 a survey. These are not real and will most likely ask for money upfront.

Survey Savvy is probably one of the best that I've seen. They offer surveys through e-mail based invitations, as well as a referral program that will continue to give you credit for your referral as long as you are signed up.

    good luck! :)

  6. A real job. Put your name in with a temp agency if you don't want to make a big commitment to a single company.

  7. The work from home jobs that aren't scams actually require work on your part - and if you're in need of money soon then you're likely to be sorely disappointed in any of those as well. Most of the legit opportunities out there take time to build - so if someone makes an outrageous claim of income it probably isn't true ( and those that are true sure didn't make that kind of money when they first began ).

Time & effort required - but do your own research on what is best for you, don't take the advice of myself and others as gospel from this type of forum.

I have other ideas that may help - one of them is an online opportunity but another is one that will require a little effort to market yourself - try some data entry for local businesses, many of them don't have the time to do it in-house and will gladly pay someone else to do it. Professionals are a good place to start, lawyers, doctors, chiropractors, etc - they need their "in-house" folks doing other things rather than busy work.

    Hope it helps!

  8. I would not do paid surveys.  You might not get scammed yourself; but you might end up paying more for "special offers" than you get in return.  And let me tell you; I've never been spammed so much in my life than by those people who do the paid surveys.  It seems like they make a significant amount of their money through referrals.

And data entry, while it may actually get you paid, is boring.  You've got to have a lot of stamina to keep going despite the drudgery.

I've been selling on eBay, which while difficult was somewhat profitable.  I sold some of my own items and I did consignment sales.

Right now I'm writing for the web.  I write for sites like Associated Content which pays upfront for articles and pays a performance bonus for traffic.  I also write for eHow through Demand Studios, which is a very nice, high-paying gig.  If you can learn to write decently and optimize your articles for traffic, you can make money on these sites.
