For my brother's birthday he wants to go to a restaurant that you sit on the floor to eat (like in Along Cam Polly)...I can't remember if it was Thai, Japanese, etc...Just wondering if anyone knows of any place like this in the Houston area. Thanks so much for your time!

  1. Kane Yama. It is on the corner of Westheimer and Tanglewilde.

  2. hb steakhouse is the best!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! but fogo de choa is good to but that might be another type of restaraunt idk!

  3. Thai Coice on Westhiemer at Wilcrest has delicious food.

Tokyohana on Loop 610 also has wonderful food and tables where you can sit on the floor if you prefer.

    Enjoy!

  4. Tokyohana

  5. Try Saffron it's not thai or japanese, i think it's moroccan or something but you can sit on little pallets on the floor. For good thai food though try bangkok cafe its really good but you do have to sit at the table...

  6. Miyako has tables where you sit on the floor. It's Japanese and not exactly Along Came Polly.

omg so so so so good i wish i lived there dude!! it's Chinese though

  8. I thought it was Indian.

Japanese food is not that hot (overly spicy).

You want to sit on a floor, go to Blue Nile on Richmond. Ethiopian food. Very good stuff. Try the samplers.

  9. There used to be a place here called Tokyo Garden where you sat on the floor.  I regret never going.  :-(

As far as Thai, I'm a fan of Thai Restaurant on Westheimer.

Japanese all tastes the same to me, but if you like the hibachi tables, go for Tokyohana across from Lakewood as opposed to Benihana.
