While not a chat forum, there's a group on MySpace for railroaders, specifically conductors, brakemen, and engineers.  It's North American based, I don't think there's any international members.

If you're on MySpace, typing "railroaders" into the search field for the groups will show it in the first five results.

www.railroad.net  It has forums for just about everything railroad.
