The problem with many of the books out there, is that they are written by people with an agenda (on both sides of the issue) that are not climate scientists.  So you have to be careful if you want accurate information from a book.  There's really no fact-checking or peer-review (as done in scientific journals) that goes on before a book is published.

So I'd advise you to only read books written by actual climate scientists.  Definitely avoid those books by political policy "experts".

One excellent (though brief) on is by Kerry Emanuel (Professor of Atmospheric Science at MIT) entitled "What We Know About Climate Change".
