  1. http://www.adoption-alliance.com/

    In Texas:

    (210) 349-3991

    In Nevada:

    (702) 968-1986

  2. Rainbow House International does open adoptions, US & foreign, based out of Albuquerque, NM.

  3. There are two in Houston who are small, personal, and very ethical.  They are big on counseling and personal services for the birthmother.

Adoption Information and Counseling Services, 713-529-4341

Angel Adoptions of the Heart, 713-523-2273

Also, outside of Texas, there are two very ethical agencies:

    PACT, (510) 243-9460

    WACAP, 206-575-4550

    Good luck to her!

  4. Does the agency have to be located in Texas?  American Adoptions is awesome!  They are located in Kansas, but do adoptions in every state of the country, with many of their birth moms being in Texas.  They are very accommodating to adoptive families across the country and were very easy to work with from out of state.  www.americanadoptions.com

  5. There is Gladney adoption agency in Texas and is one of the oldest in the state.  You did not say if your sister was married. Some agency won't adopt to single parents. And those who are married generally have to be married 3 years.  Good luck and don't forget to tell her about the income tax adoption credit

  6. Family to Family Adoptions Inc.

It is a great agency located in Richmond Texas.  We used this agency last September with adopting my now 9 month old daughter.  They are great ladies that work there, they truely make you feel  like family.  I do believe their website is fam2fam.org & their phone number is 281-342-4042.

We plan on using them again!  We do not even live in Texas...we live in South Dakota!  We just had heard so many good things about them!  From the time I contacted them until we were matched with our daughter was about a week!  That is a little fast even for them, but they work hard to help you add to your family!

  7. Buckner is a very reputable agency.  I know of a number of families and natural mothers that have utilized their services.

  8. www.cradleoflifeadoption.com is in Beaumont Texas, and serves many families outside of Texas.

  9. Well I can personally vouch for Buckner Adoption Center. Its located in Dallas but workers are very willing to meet with people all over the state.

They are great for counselling on all aspects of adoption. They are nonprofit and are run by church donations. Which means they aren't trying to hand off kids to the wealthiest families. All of their adoptive parents are committed to open adoption as 'the best possible way for a child to grow' Mothers get to choose and meet with families beforehand and discuss Open adoption contact.

Buckner's parents have to take a ton of parenting and adoptive parenting courses. They have a good screening process and all the people are extremely nice. Buckner also takes VERY good care of its birth mothers. Women are counseled before and after for as long as they like. They have group and personal meetings and the girls have someone 24/7 to talk to.

Girls can receive maternity clothes, shelter, food anything to help them through their time of need.

I have also heard of Gladneys (sp?) in fort worth but cant say from personal experience that they are all that accommodating.
