I'm looking for supernatural books (magic, ghosts, witches, demons and so on). Not Harry Potter, although maybe similar in ideas. Not Twilight, although I guess vampire books are alright.

I’ve read some of the Charmed Books and liked the TV series of that so anything like that would be good. I’ve also read the Mediator by Meg Cabot and would like any books similar to them. Please list any titles and the author, plus a summary if possible. Thanks

  1. Ann Rice has a slew of vampire books. I love them, they are a good read.

  2. The Mediator series by Meg Cabot are about ghosts?

  3. Anything by Stephen King. He's the best writer I've ever come across

  4. Hi there.

In the cheap classics section of your local bookshop (Wordsworth Clasics etc) you will find the Complete M R James - a collection of fabulously good ghost tales. All for only a pound or two!

The very, very best for you are the "Watch" series by Sergei Lukyanenko. Night Watch, Day Watch and Twilight Watch are all available and are absolutely wonderful, as good as it ever gets - trust me and give yourself a treat! Set in modern day Moscow where the forces of light battle with the forces of darkness, wizards, witches, shapeshifters, werewolves, vampires, the works - all under the noses of the ordinary population.

    Enjoy, Steve.

  5. An old favourite is Dennis Wheatley.

  6. i've read alien 3.. obviously,, it's about aliens who came to Earth in a sudden.. too bad i can't tell the summary because it's tooo long.... perhaps you can watch SPECIES series.. (it's about a half-human half-alien breed that grows into a full-grown person just within 2-3 months.. after that,, he/she is going to mate with a person then if he's a male,, he'll kill the woman after she gives birth,, and if she's a girl,, she'd kill the man just after they've mated.. and then there continues the family..)

  8. 'I, Lucifer' is excellent. I can't remember the author. It's a first person narrative about Lucifer spending some time on Earth in a dead mans body.
