  1. I'm in Lexington and most will hire. I know Taylor Made has a program and the Herald Leader which is the local paper always has jobs in it. After the Derby in May, they are always looking for people to prep for sales and it's also the same at this time of year. You can go online to the various farms websites and fill out application forms which you can then fax back. However, you need to do that within about a month of wanting work otherwise it'll just get filed. Some of the better farms to work for are Winstar, Darley (Gainsborough), Juddmonte and Three Chimneys but of course there are about 400 farms to choose from. The main sales companies that hire are Paramount and Eaton and they also have online applications that you can submit. Let me know if you need any further help.

  2. For muckers or grooms, I doubt there are many that would turn anyone that is hardworking and horse smart.

  3. you can call the local stables in your area and ask if they do internships or hire for the summer.

or stop by and speak to them in person. i think that might show more initiative and desire than just ok lemme chat on the phone to some employers.

    good luck
