Anyone know of cruise ships recruiting? I am looking to work on one THIS summer?

I will do any job; shop, cleaner, reception, entertainment, kidsclub, anything.

I am looking to leave anytime after the end of may,start of june, is there any liners that might still be recruiting?

I am just finishing Uni and want to get away and get over a bloke i've been on and off with for 7yrs, i need to be far away to sort my head out and want to make a bit of money with live-in accomodation.

You need to contact the cruise lines directly to inquire about positions you may qualify for and the types of positions they have available. Each cruise line web site has a link to employment, human resources or some such link to lead you to employment opportunities.  You will likely have to sign a contract to work a specific period, not just for the summer; that's what people we have talked to who word on cruise ships have told us.  

Several cruise lines are building new ships which will launch soon.  Royal Caribbean, Norwegian  and Celebrity are  lines with new ships coming out.

Another thing to do is to contact the concession that run the shops on the ships like the souvenir, gift and clothing shops. Below are links for you.

A friend of ours who works with NASA, below Houston (TX) took a summer vacation and worked on a cruise ship.  She said things like..."...long hours; low pay; dirty jobs; not know proper routines;motion sickness..."   Several cruise ships sailing around the Hawaiian Islands are owned by Hawaii citizens.  Only US citizens are hired as crew for those ships.  The year we sailed on Pride of Aloha, over 350 crew walked off their job the week before we boarded.  No replacements.  All vendors in Hawaii knew this and asked us, in every port, if we enjoyed our cruise.
