Anyone know of good software to learn Gaelic?

I want to learn to speak Irish and Russian ~ but Irish first. Does anyone know of a program that I can purchase that teaches the language? I don't want something that teaches you just how to say different phrases, I need something that will teach the alphabet so I can get a good foundation of the language first before I start trying to say any actual words or full sentences.

  1. try this.

  2. RTÉ does a software package called "turas teanga" which is good for the basics.

  3. I've been using "Rosetta Stone - Irish Gaelic" for the past 4 months and have been learning by leaps and bounds. It's kinda expensive but it is definitely worth it if you want to learn alot of Gaelic in a (relatively) short amount of time. Rosetta Stone uses no English at all, so it forces you to read, write, speak, and learn entirely through the medium of Gaelic. You can buy it from Amazon or from their web-site.

    Here's the link:

Also, you can check out an online course called "GaelTalk" that teaches you lots of grammar and vocabulary. Best of all, there are weekend sessions with native speakers who can answer any questions that you may have and ensure that your pronunciation will be pretty much perfect.

    Good Luck :)

  4. I can teach you if you want

    (Not fluent yet though)

PS Rosetta Stone DOESN'T WORK. I've tried it and it doesn't go into the basics of Irish or any language! Don't get it!
