Anyone know of real volunteer organizations for african orphanages...not the ones that charge you to volunteer

Organizations that charge for volunteering are REAL volunteering organizations. Someone must pay for the volunteers' flights, in-country transportation, health insurance, accommodation, food, security, translators, training, staff to supervise and support them in their service, liaisons with the police and local officials, etc. Surely you don't expect the orphanage to pay all of those expenses, thereby taking money away from those they serve, in favor of foreigners looking for a feel-good experience?
