  1. in the middle - lyme bay or much of the dorset coast for that matter

  2. Without a doubt there are hundreds. Try Freathy beach in the South East corner of Cornwall. There are loads of pools on the beaches around Mount Edgecombe Park, just around the corner, but on Freathy there is golden sand as well, should she (or you ;-)) fancy a change from rock pools.

You could try off the Dorset Coast if you fancy any fossil hunting in the sandstone as well of course. For that try Lulworth Cove. For something else try Swanage; it has it's own steam railway. Your best bet for rock pools is to try off to the side of a beach, and work along a bit. But do be careful!!!!!!

Whatever you are doing, watch out for the tide and don't get cut off. Stay safe and have fun.

  3. My daughter loved the rock pools at Bigbury, near Plymouth, and when I was a kid, we used to go to Weymouth then on to Portland Bill and there are a lot of rock pools there.

There was always a lot of sea life in the Bigbury pools and every year we visited we'd choose a large pool to turn into a super sea-life pool by collecting specimens from all round.

  4. Torquay,esp;in the Abbey sands area,lots there.

Also,Seaton,in Cornwall, a quiet little place near Looe and Polperro.
