Anyone know the bahia maimon area?

I'm off to the riu resorts at bahia maimon next month and usually like to do a bit of exploring while away. Should i avoid getting out and about alone in the immediate surroundings beyond the resort? Any must see or must do places?

Well, the Bahia of Maimon is nice, but nearby there is only a small village with the same name. You just go out of the Riu's and go to the

main road and there you take a public us ( Javilla Tours named) and you go to Puerto Plata (200.000 souls) it will cost you about 25 pesos

(less than one dollar). To come back you ask for the bus station of
