Try this website, I jsut booked a 1 way rental from Newcastle to Gatwick for 1 day and it was only £38 bargain!!

The car rental is through Europcar but it was twice the price on their website.

there are lots in the uk,,,the probably best well known,and reliable are Hertz car hire,,,they have countrywide cover and will replace a car as soon as possible if your hire car  breaks down

I use Europcar, Pauls Van Hire and another local firm whose name I forget.

I would recommend Europcar, they even gave me a discount because I moved a business next door to them!
