ONE ROUTE :

To get to Goa from the Nilgiris you have to reach Bangalore first.

Catch the 7309 YESWANTHPUR JN (Bangalore)  VASCO DA GAMA Express.

Dep: 16:10

Arr: 5:50 (At Madgaon) 6:45 (At Vasco)

But it runs only on Tuesday and Friday.

To get to Bangalore from the Nilgiris:

The Mysore-Ooty highway cuts through the Wild Life Park.  Ooty is about 60 odd kms on the highway from Madumalai sanctuary. There should be service from the Sanctuary to Ooty. From Ooty (Udhamanagalam) take the toy Blue Train to Mettupalayam (35 kms). This is an enchanting trip, especially if you have kids -- they will love it !  and a nice way to conclude your Wild Life Excursion -- along mountain passes, gorges, plantations and forests, lasting four hours. From Metuplayam go will get to Coimbatore in an hour. This is a main Railway junction. Trains from here to Bangalore :-

2678 / 2677 Coimbatore - Bangalore Inter City Exp (Daily) Dep. 14.25  Ar. 13.10

The Bangalore Kanyakumari Express (6526) also runs through Coimbatore.

Alternately, several buses and taxis also ply outbound from Ooty.

ALTERNATIVE ROUTE : was looking at maps/rail info and learnt this :

From Coimbatore --Shoranur Jn is 98 kms  (1.5 hours journey) -- so you might skip the Bangalore option --  there are both daily and weekly trains to Goa.

DAILY trains from Shoranur Jn to Goa

Catch the 2617 MANGALA-LAKSHADWEEP EXP  

dep. 15.05  Arr.  at Madgoan/Panaji  03.25. it is 12.20 hours journey

Catch the 6346 NETRAVATI EXP  dep  16.45  arr.  Madgaon at 05.50

Rail: The sanctuary is located at a distance of 65-km from Udhagamandalam railway station and 95-km from Mysore station.

you have 2  option  

1. from mudumallai you have to come to shornur jn. to catch a train to goa

1. go to coimbatore by road (which is 110 k.m from madumallai) and from there catch a train to shornur which is 2  hours train journey and from there catch a train to madagoan (goa).

                             or

go to shornur via gudalur nilambur by road  which is 130 k.m from madumallai and from shornur catch a train to madagoan,

this two trains are running daily from shornur

2617 mangla express dep at shornur 15.05 and reach madagoan 03.25 next day

6346 netravati express dep shornur at 16.45 and arrival at madgoan 05.50 next day

and for other weekly train check this website

clik on all station(number 1) and then type srr in to column and mao in from column (number 2) and then clik on the number 3  to get all trains detail between shornur and madgoan.

the second option is go to mysore from mudumallai(which is 80 k.m ) and then from there catch a train to banglore and from banglore  catch a train to madgoan
