Question:

Anyone know the best way to increase your vertical?

When i was a junior in highshool i could dunk a volleyball quite easily. Now for some reason(even after 2 seasons of nonstop volleyball) i can't do it and i'm at the end of my senior year. I plan on playing volleyball in college but i need to get some ups, anyone with any ideas?

    I mesured my vertical and then I jumped alot like where ever I was I would try to jump and touch something. then a month later I mesured it agian and got up and inch it really helps!!!!!!!!!

  3. mayb as ur getting older u R not bending ur knees as much and not giving urself enuff potencial energy... try taking ur drive step and close step faster and build energy... bend ur knees as far as they go and bring ur arms down ... then spring up using ur legs and arms.... good luck playin college ball ... i hope i helped !!!

  4. Practice, practice, practice, and by that I mean you are going to have to strengthen your leg muscels to be able to launch you in the air. It is very intresting however that with in a 2 season period you lost your vertical leap. Have you added any additional weight? It is possible to gain additional weight while still being phsysically fit, especially if you are performing mainly alot of running because running requires less strength and more endurance than jumping. A very old technique to increase your vertical leap is to work out with weight around your ankels. Your muscels become accustomed to the additional weight so when you remove them for a game you should notice some additional leap.

  6. To really increase your vertical go to the gym and start squating. You will see an increase in your vertical, if your at home put half of your foot on a stair or ledge then stand on the tips of your toes. This will work your claves as well.

  7. over one winter I increased my vertical one foot by just strengthening my thighs and legs. Lots of exercises to get more muscle on them.
