If you leave from NYC or Newark, NJ, try cheapflights.com. Better yet, if you're lazy, click on the following links:

If you leave from any other small airport (emphasize on small), like me. Face it dude! There is not gonna be any cheap fares because you're gonna have to transfer to LOTS of airports before you actually reach Vietnam.

In the order of "cheapness":

1. swim

2. ship freight for companies doing business in Vietnam (e.g. Nike, Gap)

3. ship freight to a 3rd country and then swim or ship freight to Vietnam

4. ship

5. air (around $900-$1300 depend on the time of year)
