  1. That bike was actually made by American Machine and Foundry Company (AMF- the same people that made the bowling alley stuff) about 1960 through 1969. There were many different retailers that sold the same bike under their own brand name (Sears comes to mind) in different colors.

    The picture depicts a bike that had a cosmetic restoration completed, but the tires and grips are not correct... neither are the fenders.

    Now that the general history is out of the way, the bike is considered a middleweight which is the generic name for this type of bike. They were also manufactured by Murray Corporation for J.C. Higgins and also sold under their own name, and Schwinn made examples as well. These bikes are incredibly numerous and generally available at almost any large flea market for under $50, usually less.
