They were saying more viewers might tune it to watch Palin speak than Obama. He had around 38 million viewers so I was just wondering did they release the viewership stats for last night? I'm sure it must be high.

  1. It too was 38 million. the same as Obama

  2. I just saw the ratings for Obama's speech last week today, so maybe that's how long it takes to get them.

  3. "More than 37.2 million people tuned in for coverage of the third night of the 2008 Republican National Convention, which featured Sarah Palin’s much anticipated national debut.

Wednesday night’s RNC broadcasts attracted just a 1.1 million fewer viewers than Barack Obama’s record-breaking speech on day four of the Democratic convention."

    (oops, had wrong day before)

  4. According to MSNBC, it was about 37 milllion, one million less than Obama.  Hey, the Repubes could've put a ham sandwich in front of the microphone for the same results.  She was sarcastic, mean-spirited and is now a Karl Rove puppet too.  GOBAMA.

  5. Well Sarah Palin's hate mongering talk must have done something for her Messiah McCain.

    The gallop poll was

    McCain 43

    Obama 49

    Now it's

    McCain 43

    Obama 47

  6. I found that Palin speech very bland. I think if she had of shouted I have big feet, there would be cheering in the isles. Funningly I heard most of her speech on radio, some cheering nothing major, but on Foxnews, wow I thought the Beatles had just regrouped on stage.

  7. It was 37 million viewers. There are many millions more watching it on line today. Websites are crashing all over the country.

  8. 37.2 million which was less than the DNC last week  which was 38.4 million

  9. Who cares! Wait until Nov....

  10. Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin's highly anticipated speech at the Republican National Convention on Wednesday night nearly matched the record-setting numbers of Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama.

Palin pulled in 37.2 million viewers across broadcast and cable networks, according to Nielsen Media Research.

That's 55% higher than Day 3 of the DNC, when her Democratic counterpart, Joe Biden, and President Clinton took the stage (24 million).

It's also up a sharp 99% from the Republican convention's third day in 2004 (18.7 million) and easily bests the numbers viewers attracted by George W. Bush when he accepted the nomination (27.6 million). In fact, it came close to upsetting Obama's historic address last Thursday -- the most-watched convention speech in history (38.4 million viewers).

  11. I think it was about 10 million less

  12. It was high...but it didn't beat Obama's numbers.  Howerver, I'm sure a lot of those viewers were like me...just tuning in to see the freak show.

EDIT: Wow...bunch of mis-information on here...like I said it was high but didn't beat Obama...and it was "38 million just like Obama"

    Numbers:

    Palin: 37.2 million

    Obama 38.4 million

  13. it was less...i'll try to find the article.........here....http://hotlineblog.nationaljournal.com/a... isn't the same article I saw and I don't know how  credible it is but it essentially says the same thing I remember seeing.

  14. On the radio, they said that Palin's speech pulled in 37 million viewers. Obama had 38 million viewers, therefore he is still the winner. The RNC cannot top Obama's and the DNC convention's overall ratings.
