Anyone know what's wrong with my tv?

We were moving and I unplugged it. When I went to plug it back in it wouldn't do anything but, scroll "THIS IS WHY YOU SHOULD BUY THIS TV." Then it gives a list of reasons why. It is an older tv like 90's. Nothing happened to it, we were very carefull when we moved it. The color is good, I tried to hook it up to cable, it wouldn't do anything, just kept scrolling "this is why you should buy this tv" Anyone know what is wrong with it? THANKS!

  1. Demo mode is most likely your problem but I don't think a stuck button is the problem.  Since you did not list the model or make, I'm limited to how I can help you.

Your best bet to get out of demo mode is to call the manufacturer.  Unless you can access the menu and there is an option to change from demo mode, their is usually a sequence of buttons that is pressed to get out of this.

I wish the best for a quick fix, but I don't think anything is actually broken in your TV.

  2. Aa lot of TVs from the 1990s had a "Demo mode". most likely one of the buttons on the front of the tv has built of some grime and a change in the humidity level has caused it to stick/

  3. Push channel up and vol. up at the same time and then hit power. you will be good to go

  4. Older TV's had a k**b on the back called "vertical hold"

you could adjust this to stop scrolling.
