Anyone know what happened to Kasey Kahne during qualifying?

Yes, some mechanical failure before he completed the first lap. It happened somewhere under the front of his car and sent him into the wall. Thank God that he's locked in the race, or he would be on his way home.

He said he might have over-driven it exiting the corner, but that honestly looked like something malfunctioned, because his car just pulled straight to the right and hit the wall. The right front tire was down afterward, but I couldn't tell if it was down before he hit or not.

I haven't found anything that tells EXACTLY what happened, but I really do figure that it was something malfunctioning.
