I don't have a picture unfortunately, but we live in south eastern PA and I have seen several of these large grey insects buzzing around and the tips of the underside of their abdomans are bright red. I have never seen them before last summer and I'm wondering what in the world they are. They look formidable; like something that may bite or sting. Anyone have an idea?
