Anyone know what the railroad frequencies are for the dallas area?

I would like to find the frequencies to put them in my scanner.

  1. Here is a complete website of railroad frequencies:

    http://www.whrc-wi.org/railfreqs.htm

    Just find your local railroads and look them up on that site. I know the ones for my area are correct, so I'm sure they all are - FCC freqs. are public record, so that's probably where they came from.

    Those will help for chatter, but if you're looking to find out when a train is getting near, you may want these:

    452.9375

    457.9375

    Every so often, when within range, there will be a "chirp" on one of these frequencies, as the train nears.


  2. search between 160mhz. and  161.55mhz.  most are in that range. Scanning is my favorite hobby. have fun. My son loves trains. He wants to be a train engineer when he groes up.
