I am planning on driving to Seattle WA from Vancouver BC. I am wondering if you can still drive and enter the US without a passport?

Also Once I get to Seattle, I am planning on flying to LA, California. Once you are in the USA do you need a passport to fly from Seattle-LAX

  1. According to TSA, Passports are require on all flight, including ferries/driving that cross US and Canada/Mexico Border.

  2. You need a passport.

  3. you will need a passport travelling from Canada to the U.S. and you will need a passport to fly within the U.S.

for the person below me that answered, they might be right, but i just went to buffalo from Toronto and they said it was mandatory to have a passport. And when you are flying you  ALWAYS needd a passport. If your not sure just bring a passport in case. Its better then spending hours driving and waiting to find out you cant go

    hope i helped :)

  4. You need a passport to FLY ACROSS the border, but you may cross the border by land with a photo I.D. and a birth certificate.  Once you are in the U.S. , you do NOT need  a passport to fly within the U.S.  Your photo I.D. will be fine.  Passports for land travel between U.S. and Canada will not be needed until June 2009.  See site below.  The amount of MISINFORMATION given on this topic is absoluely astounding!
