Anyone know when all areas of Australia will be able to receive Digital TV?

I was gonna buy a Plasma TV, then I was told I most likely wouldn't pick up Digital cos of my location,too many hills. Not up with all the latest technology.

I thought that all new tvs that already have hd built in should be able to watch them already, unless you have to get a set top box, but thats usually only if you dont have hdtv, so you should be able to, contact the tv stations in your area, if you cant get them yet maybe put off buying the tv until you can, otherwise its just a waste of your time and your money! :)


  2. Should be before Feb 2009. I think that is the governments cut off date for analogue tv signals

  3. we already do have digital TV. Hence why channel 10 has 10HD, and 7HD and 9HD. SBS and ABC also have their respective digital channels. And they look very detailed, which is a good thing.

    Depending on your aerial you may not be able to recieve these channels if your in remote areas, which is why you should get an aerial amplifier, it sends across a current through the aerial which helps it pick up the digital channels. In Metropolitan areas reception should be fine.
