You could try Halfords, they do cheap camping sets (strangly for a car parts shop), Tesco are doing some deals at the moment, or you could try Millets or Blacks.

Is all you need a tent and sleeping bag or do you need other camping equipment? You can of course manage to camp with, say, your household pots and pans so that reduces a cost and you can get cheap stoves from the outdoor shops on the highstreet
