Hey

I want to go for a weekend away with my bloke and im not sure where to go.

I have thought about Grimsby, or skegness or whatever, but not sure. York is a little too expensive.

Any ideas, I live near Doncaster, so not TOOOO far from there, but willing to travel a little bit.

Thanks, if you can recommend a hotel/B&B that would also be great thanks.

  1. What about Leeds? It's only down the road but far enough away to get away from things. If you like night life and good food Leeds is definitely the place to be and it's not too expensive neither. There's hotels for £30 a night that look ok.

If you're not into partying or anything like that I'd go to Wetherby, it's on the outskirts of Leeds but it's like a little village type town. It's very quaint and there's some beautiful oldy worldy bed and breakfasts and some great traditional shops and pubs.

  2. How far is tooo far?

What about Oxford? Its about 2.5 hours away. Lots to see and do, boat on the river, see where Harry Potter was filmed, visit the Universities.

A great hotel is Malmaison Oxford, its a converted prison (the one used for Bad Girls) http://www.oxfordprison.co.uk

  3. Harrogate or Whitby.

  4. It depends what past times you are both interested in, the beach, bars, sight seeing etc.

But I would recommend booking a travel lodge, reasonable for the money and cleaner than an old fashioned B&B

  5. CenterParcs is great for weekends away.

Iv been going there since i was a baby & its a lovley place.

Theres lots of activities and swimming & Places to go at night and amazing restaurants etc.

There is one in nottingham which isnt too far away from doncaster. They arent hotels or b&bs though, They are chalets.

Have a look on www.centerparcs.co.uk and click on villages , the 2nd one at the top and it tells u which ones there is.

  6. How about Blackpool? It's got a beech, theme park - yeah it's a little tacky but its really great fun in a retro kinda way! I reckon you and ur guy cud have a great weekend there.

  7. You are within easy reach of North Yorks and some of the coastal resorts like Scarborough and Whitby are hard to beat. Reasonably priced B+B available in all : just go to tourist centre for help.  Also, the beautiful Derbyshire Peak District is not too far away, with its pretty villages and dramatic scenery; I'm a fan of Matlock and Buxton, but head for Castleton for some thrilling caverns if you've never been. Hope that helps!
