I am a 27 year old male currently working in a warehouse near Doncaster looking to improve my income(around £800-£1000 per month), I have a full uk drivers license + counter balance and reach truck. I have always worked since leaving school, i would have liked to have learnt a trade at this time but due to cercumstanses i had to work to keep a roof over my head ,i own my car outrite and am proud to be a homeowner with no debts. I have started a plumbing course recently(learning at home on my pc) and would love to get out fitting bathroom suites and sutch to gain some experience. I am pretty much looking for just about anything with good prospects and the oppertunity to use a bit of brains i know i have. Thanks.

  1. Try ringing the local colleges that offer electrical/plumbing courses. Both these trades are "hands on" and are best learnt getting your hands dirty.

I used to train adult apprentices as electricians for a London council for people of your age. We offered all the trades. You could try Doncaster council for a position, but apprenticeships take 4 years and don't pay that well whilst you are studying.

As an adult, instead of a 16 year old, the training can be done quicker, but it is experience that you will need on the job.

  2. Or try ringing round all your local plumber / electricans. Thats what i did when i needed work, an i've just changed jobs after 8 years.

  3. Try www.mysouthyorkshirejobs.co.uk

not advertising but they usually have a good selection.
