  4. peaceandlove,

The website that you need to go to is www.vacationstogo.com  You can sort by price to get the cheapest up first.  I've booked on here before with no problems, but you can also call the cruise lines themselves and tell them the rate you see on the website and see if they will match.

  5. Check out www.vacationstogo.com for cruise deals.

You might be able to find a 3 or 4 day cruise in this price range.

Heads up....many times the rates quoted on the web don't include the port fees and taxes.  Make sure you get this info up front so you are not surprised when you go to ticket the trip.

Depending on the company, some cruise lines automatically add tips to your account when you board.

During our last Carnival cruise, the tips were added to the on-board accounts the moment we stepped on-board.  The guests using cash accounts had to immediately add funds to their on-board accounts before they could charge anything.

  6. Most cruises average $75 to a $100 a day.  If you are looking for an inexpensive cruise in this price range you'll probably end up in a shorter cruise or cruising in off season.  Check out Carnival, some of the Princess cruises and Norwegian although it is not my first choice as a great cruise line some people swear by it.  Aslo a lot depends on where you are going.  Alaska is always more expensive, but you can normally get good packages in the Caribbean and the Bahamas.  IF you are going during high travel times you will not get this rate.  Sorry.  It's all about supply and demand.

  7. Carnival.com

  8. Yeah, try this site:  iBtraveling.com

I usually find some great travel deals there.

    Have fun and good luck!

  9. My husband and I cruised last March on the Carnival Elation for 5 days for a total of $780, and that included tips, taxes and port charges... so you can cruise cheap, but you have to cut out some of the extras that most people get (sodas, alcohol, pictures-- most cruise ships will assault you with cameras wherever you go and then try to get you to buy their $20 pics), excursions etc.

Carnival will be your best bet on making sure you make your budget. Just explore and see how much you can get a cruise for... you never know until you try. I have listed the steps i go through each time I cruise to get a GREAT deal (I just booked a 7 night cruise for $480 a person, plus tips):

    1. Start out at Vacationstogo.com. They have an easy cruise interface to search through on base prices for each cruiseline, and you can narrow it down to what you want. With your budget, it would be best to stick with 4-5 day cruises.

2.Check out other cruise websites once you narrow down what you want on Vacationstogo.com. cruisecheap.com, cruise.com, cruisesonly.com, are a few of the websites I have used in the past to get a better price.

    3. Once one of the above vendors has given you their "best" price, keep looking around. I have found that the next place to go is The Cruise Line Ltd (beatanycruiseprice.com). They will usually beat the "best" price of their competitors by atleast $100!

    4. Once you've received the Cruise Line Ltd's price, go to cruisecompete.com. There you put in all of your info and your current price quote, and then several agents will contact you via email with an even better price. I have only used them once, but they beat the Cruise Line Ltd's price by $70!!! I ended up booking with the Cruise Line Ltd because the agents that actually quoted me the best deal never returned my emails.

Hope this was helpful. I have followed this system now for 2 cruises and always gotten great deals.

  10. depends on your location and length of stay...go to expedia or orbitz
