Anyone know why Baffert, Lucas & Zito don't have entries in this year's derby?

no reason really...  it's just horse racing.  it's unpredictible and varies a lot every year.  Sometimes you get a horse that's good enough for the Derby and sometimes you don't.  A couple years ago, Zito had like 5 horses in the field.  This year Pletcher has 5 horses in the field.  Sometimes you're lucky enough to have a big group of really talented horses and sometimes you're just not that lucky.

Losing streak maybe. None of these guys have had any success at the derby in the fast few years.

I 've been wondering the same thing, and asked the same question. This is very strange to me. I remember in years' past Lukas just could not stand to not have one in the Derby, and entered anything from the barn. I guess times are changing.

I am very glad too see that Baffert doesn't have a start. He loves the media circus around him.
