  1. a box of baking soda. in the freezer

  2. The stinky stuff in garlic is allicin, which is a thiol. Common chemicals that smell similar and may well be in your water are mercaptans (RSH). These chemicals make your natural gas stink (t-butyl mercaptan), make onions stink (allyl mercaptan), skunks stink (butyl mercaptan), and make asphalt stink..   Try changing the water filter in the freezer, maybe it can filter some of the chemical out before it freezes the ice.

  3. Have you washed the tray in water that onions have been near,or dried it with a towel that you used to wipe up onions?

  4. Your fridge and freezer share the same air circulation, so go out and get a few of those Fridge It activated carbon odor absorbers -- little purple cube - don't waste money on the imitations.  Just put a couple in fridge AND freezer.   Totally unscented so it actually eliminates odor rather than covering up with some nasty fragrance and totally safe to use.   I've tried baking soda and it just doesn't work and especially in freezer.

I've used these for spilled something in my purse, cabinets, worst smells in fridge and ice in freezer. Also, took care of spoiled fish in car which was really bad.  - they are FANTASTIC No spills or chemicals to worry about. You can buy these in kitchen gadget stores or just go direct which is what I do - contact them at customerservice@innofresh.com and ask for order form. You get it right away.

Definitely the way to go. try it.

    Good luck

  5. Your refrigerator and freezer share the same air circulation.

Throw out the ice and do not store any more onions in the refrigerator.
