The soldier was on leave after being injured in Afghanistan, and was visiting a mate. He attempted to book a room at the Surrey hotel , and was refused, and told it was not the policy of the Hotel to allow military personnel. What a disgrace!

  1. I didn't know that. Its terrible

  2. Had he been in civilian clothes the problem would not have arisen.I never came home in uniform, for obvious reasons.

  3. Totally agree, all l've read is it's against their policy, wonder maybe if to do with potential security risk but that's just a guess .

  4. If this is the policy of the hotel, it should immediately be reversed. I and many others will find this disgusting ! One thing that you can bet money on is that the so called " policy makers " do not have a relative or friend serving in H.M. forces, neither have they served themselves! These people are quite content to sit safely at home whilst others are in harms way on their behalf. This hotel should certainly be boycotted until this policy is reversed.

  5. It's O.K. being 'holier than thou' about this incident but service personnel do have a terrible reputation when it comes to social gatherings.

However, as per usual, it was an innocent victim who paid the price for previous misdemeanours.

  6. outrageous, disgusting, how ungrateful

    & Truly PATHETIC!

Here in the UK people will have to make up their mind,

WE ARE ALL EITHER BEHIND OUR LADS/LADIES fighting on the other side of the planet, we are all in this together

    OR lose our custom.

I say to anybody/everybody boycott this hotel.

    That's THE METRO Woking Surrey.

Don't give them your hard-earned money they don't deserve your custom!

    Security Risk?

    I say Rubbish.

For heavens sake I'm ashamed of this country sometimes.

    ASHAMED!

    :(

  7. "It's Tommy...this, and Tommy.....that and "Tommy go away",

But it's, "You First Mr Atkins" when the band begins to play (for war)

Absolutely disgusting - I'm amazed the Eglish treat their soldiers like that.  I heard there was trouble in the hospitals, but denying them bed and board - shameful!

  8. Maybe the hotel had a blanket rule because of previous bad behaviour from military personnel. I work for a company that runs some Junior rate accommodation for the Navy in the south of england. I have seen what some of these people do to their rooms - it can be absolutely disgusting.

We had one girl leave her room with human f***s in her fridge. We often get occasions when personnel "miss use" the public bathrooms - oh yes we recently had more than three personnel defecate in the same bath! We had one guy steel the communal T.V and then claim it was against his human rights when we removed it and placed it back in the tv room. We get incidents like this at least once every 2 months and very little support from the senior officers.

Bearing in mind that the accommodation we run is hotel standard or better this is totally unacceptable behaviour and makes me worried about the type of people we are sending out to defend our country.

  9. Everyone should avoid the Metro hotel.  Heck people should be demonstrating against it!!

  10. i) because military types have a record of going on drunken binges and ruining any accomodation they are in.

ii) why would you let a hired killer sleep in the next room to innocent people ?

For the information of the questionner : I really don't care what Big Brother viewers think about me.
