  1. South Ossetia began shooting at Georian Villages a week agoo, thats generally ho it started,,

for sure south ossetia wouldnt have fired in not Russia at her back!

  2. u somehow forget about refugees, who left their homes during the war. They weren't asked which side they wanted. If S.O is independent republic how come S. Ossetians became Russians including their president. If they were defending S.Ossetia from Georgians, why were Russians remaining as peacemakers, because I think peacemakers must be neutral. U say that Russia is defending its territory, so why were there peacemakers not the army.

P.S Georgia wasn't driven of from S.O that's another lie.

I don't think that Russia didn't want the war, they finally got a false reason to attack Georgia. And in 1991 Russia was supporting S.O with weapons. That's why the war was lost.

So u think that Russia is innocent?

  3. Georgia has a provence that wants to be apart.........Georgia went there to stop the rebels.............Russia doesn't want a democracy on their border................they are fixing that problem........Russia is e the scum it was re under Stallin............murders........

  4. South Ossetia is technically part of Georgia.

In the early 1990's after the collapse of the USSR, South Ossetia and Georgia went to war.

    South Ossetia basically won.

S.O. and Georgia signed a peace treaty.  Georgia lost all rule over S.O., S.O. was allowed to set up its own government, and Georgia troops had to pull out.

2004.  Current Georgian President is elected stating he will return all Georgian provinces, ie S.O., back under the federal government - in effect against the peace treaty signed by Georgia and S.O.

In the past few years Georgia and the USA/NATO/West have warmed up to each other.  Especially since Georgia has 2,000 troops in Iraq.  Third behind US and UK.

Thursday: Georgia's President gambles that with the world's eye on the Olympics, his nation can defend S.O. And, that PM Medved of Russia will not retaliate due to the horrible press of escalating the battle on the opening day of the Olympics.

PM Medved doesn't fall for it.  After trying to get UN to tell Georgia to stop, he sends in the Russian Military.

Russia drives Georgia effectively out of S.O. by this morning.

Russia continues to pound/bomb Georgia's military installments and military infrastructure to first to teach Georgia a lesson that it cannot invade independent lands on Russia's borders, second send a message two the other former Soviet state (Ukraine, Belarus, Moldova, Lithuania, Armenia, Lichtenstein, Latvia, Czech Republic, Slovenia, Slovakia) that no matter how warm you get with NATO and the West, they will leave you hanging out high and dry.

In my opinion, Russia is doing the right thing.  Georgia's president made a huge gamble. And, now he is paying the price.

    Seriously, what was he thinking.

This is really a huge setback for the Bush administration.

GW has tried to sell NATO membership for old USSR bloc states to our western allies.  Georgia acting completely out of line just revamps France, Italy and Spain's concerns.  Further, it will make the old USSR and Eastern European states think twice now about the proposed missle shield.

Example, say all those states above decided to go with the US missle shield plan on their land.  And, 1 of the states decides to pick a fight with Russia.  Russia probably will bomb all the "shields" in these countries in the name of self defense.

All the while, Eastern Europens have to be sitting on their couches saying, what good is it to be the USA's ally while Georgia is getting biatchslapped, GW is waving flags at the Olympics?

Hope that helps... Facts with my own commentary.

  5. Russia invaded Georgia.

  6. We, the Georgians don't know the truth and how you can be so sure with your answers?

  7. Arch couldn't have said it any better

The South Ossetians declared independence from Georgia in 1991, and there was a similiar war to what is happening today.

There is a seperatist movement in South Ossetia that wants to break away from Georgie, these seperatists are supported by the Russians and were granted Russian citizenship

When the Georgian military attacked south ossetia to make sure they don't break off, they killed Russian civilians

Russia saw this as an act of war for killing their civilians, and took their chance to put Georgia back in their place.

South Ossetians WANT to be part of Russia and try to break off Georgia. Georgia refuses to let them break off and has been ethnically cleansing and murdering civilians that oppose their government for the last few years

somehow, the media made it look like the Georgians are the innocent good hearted ones getting attacked by the big bad Russians.

  8. Russia atacked georgia because georgia won't let an state separate.

  9. It's quite clear that Georgia started this conflict even though i'm sure U.S media will blame Russia as the aggressor. Georgia is a U.S ally and is trying to clame South Ossetia back by force. South Ossetia is run by separatists who want to join their ethnic kin in North Ossetia, across the border in Russia. Russia has come to South Ossetia aid and now there is all out war. Now I kept asking myself why would a small force(Georgia) start a suicide mission when it's clear Russia would destroy them. Well it seems to me that the Georgian President is being used as a puppet because he can't be this stupid. Puppet for what and for whom you ask, good question. I think the U.S is encouraging Georgia to do this.

Anyone who tells you different only watches Fox, CNN, or BBC.
