I think McCain made a quick "from the hip" choice without proper research after the the right wing of the party nixed his 1st choice, Lieberman.   I think the far right will love her but the independents won't

He was an Alaska state trooper. An alcoholic. He beat his wife (Sarah's sister), tasered his 11 year old son, threatened the life of Sarah's father. He was suspended from the force fo misusing his weapon. Sarah wated him fired but the good old boy commander wouldn't do it. So supposedly she had the commander moved to another position.

well supposedly she tried to get someone to fire her ex- brother in law by using her position and that guy wouldn't do it

i dont know details i only heard this by my family like a couple of days ago

the ex bro in law is a state trooper, who was married to her sister.  they were divorced years ago.  so its not because her sister was divorcing him that was already in the past.

Palin fired the Public Safety Commissioner who then said that Palin had put pressure on him to fire the trooper.  

Some friends or associates in law enforcement were critical of it and so an investigation was called.  Palin has encouraged the investigation and says there was no wrongdoing she has nothing to hide.

There is a lot more to the story than the media is reporting....It turns out, this guy was abusive to his wife, used a tazer gun his 10 year old step son and was driving while under the influence....This guy is a state trooper, behavior very unbecoming of a cop...
