Anyone knows how to beat a speeding ticket in the Belt Parkway, NYC?

To those posting that the easiest way to fight a speeding ticket is NOT to SPEED. I would ask you to please not to insult my intelligence.

That’s an obvious answer!

Now the real issue here is that the speed limits posted along The Belt Parkway and any other NYC hwys are irrational/impractical in today’s world. No ONE obeys the posted limits (including cops, or highway patrolmen, or any other city agency) because the flow of traffic (excluding rush hrs.) forces you to go above the speed limit.

Moreover, I have been driving for more than 20 years and I have never received a speeding ticket or any other moving violation except for this one. I was going with the flow of traffic and I guess I was the unlucky one. As a matter of fact it was at the beginning of the month and NYPD has to collect money and officers have to make their quotas. I am keeping myself on the right lane (slow lane) and I am very careful now not to exceed the posted limit and you should see the other drivers! Honking like mad people because I am doing 50mph. I think I am creating a traffic hazard doing the posted speed limit of 50mph.

  1. Well that all depend on how logical is your arugment when you go before the judge in the traffic court. Unless you can proof to the Judge that everyone else at the time that you were speeding were going in the same speed or more over the speed limit you can fight the ticket.

Or you can find out where are the speed traps in NYC that you might want to find out before you went speedy down that certain corner at certain block in NYC

or you can joined the following group and try to beat a speeding tickets at your town at

    They provide some helpful tips!

  2. Yay for you being in the Army. Good for you. Obviously, that gives you some kind of insight into the workings of the police force. Maybe the MPs have a quota, but my brother is a state trooper, and he got a good laugh out of your entire question.

As far as brainless goes? Yes, you'd certainly have the home-team advantage on that topic. The speed limit is 50, you're doing 75, and somehow you've been wronged? Astonishing. Do you listen to yourself when you talk?

If nothing else, this is a great example of how experience does not equal intelligence.

Pay the ticket, quit whining, and go about your merry way.

  3. Yes.  Read this eBook it has all the necessary information to help you beat the speeding ticket  http://www.casovbooks.com/Speeding.html  Never have to worry about a speeding ticket again.

  4. 1. Cops don't have quotas. It's a wild misconception.

    2. Just because you feel the speed is irrational, doesn't make you exempt from obeying the rules. I think it's irrational to stop for pedestrians, but I still do it, because it's the law.

    3. Even if other people are breaking the law, does not justify you doing the same. So stating that everyone else did it, is entirely pointless.

    4. You are now driving the speed limit, and are being a more cautious driver. Which is the entire intent of officers giving out tickets in the first place.

What is there to beat? You were in the wrong, and you are paying a fair and exact penalty for it. There's no injustice here.

  5. Its very hard to bet any of these speeding tickets and I understand what you are saying and the best thing for you would be to just take a defensive driving course and just forget about this and move on, good luck.
