Anyone knows how to make the vietnamese pastry "banh dan"?

i had it in hanoi and it was so delicious!

  1. Actually it's the "banh ran". All you need is fluor, beans. put beans inside the fluor which had been made like a ball and place them in a pan full of oil. Fried them until they look golden brown. Enjoy it with sugar or whatever sauce you want. Hey, next time when u go to vietnam, remember to try "NEM CHUA RAN" and "NUOC MIA". Those are really cheap and delicious. yummy. i love those thing!

Are you talking about the pastry that has mung beans inside and sesame seeds outside if I understand you correctly.  In the North, this is what they call.  If you live in the states, you can easily find them where's a large Vietnamese community such as Southern Cali, Virginia, and Texas. It's not expensive. You can certainly get them at any Vietnamese pastry.

      

    Unless you know where to find sweet rice flour, I don't think you can make it at home.
